CNAME Records in Shared Web Hosting
Creating a CNAME record using our Linux shared web hosting packages is extremely simple. Our in-house built Hepsia CP features a section committed to the DNS records of your domain names, so you can create a new CNAME record for any domain or subdomain hosted inside your account in just a few basic steps. You can find a video tutorial in the same section in which you can see the process first-hand. This feature provides you with various opportunities - if you set up a company site on our end, for instance, the staff can use their emails with the company domain address, not with the address of our mail server. If you decide to set up a website through a different company which offers online web design services, you can easily forward a domain name hosted here and use it for the site. Last, but not least, in case you have an online store and you have a billing system for http://your-domain.com and/or an SSL certificate, you can create a CNAME record for the www subdomain and redirect it to the main domain name, so all your clients are going to be forwarded to a secure URL.
CNAME Records in Semi-dedicated Hosting
If you have a semi-dedicated server from our company and you would like to create a CNAME record, it requires only a few clicks to complete this task. The plans are managed through our in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel in which you will find a section dedicated to the DNS records of the domains and subdomains hosted within the account. To set up a CNAME record, you'll only have to choose the record type and the hostname (domain or subdomain), type in where the latter will be directed to and save the change. The new record will be active almost right away in our system and will propagate worldwide within a couple of hours. Modifying or deleting an existing CNAME record within the account is just as easy and takes a click. In case you experience any issues, you can go through our detailed help article, watch the short video on the topic that we have added in the Control Panel, or just contact us for help.
