Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Established in 2001, the Dot NAME top-level domain name extension is the sole TLD supposed to be for personal web pages only. These domain names can include personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other titles people are known by. Initially, just 3rd-level registrations were allowed, so if you planned to obtain john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already bought 3rd-level names remained active.

Through our firm, you can reserve your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the opportunity to edit the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our company if you acquire its EPP transfer key from the present registrar firm and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finalized. There are no particular terms on who can get a .NAME domain, but in order to preserve the concept behind its establishment alive, the .NAME Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.
